Mission Trip 2022 • May 26-31, 2022
We will be taking a mission team to minister to the church we support in the Navajo Nation. Here are some important facts. We will update as we know more.
Location: The church is located in the Navajo Nation, one hour from Grants, New Mexico. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Grants and driving in for our ministry days. To read about the Navajo Nation, click here.
Dates: Flying in to Albuquerque, New Mexico on May 26 and flying home May 31.
• Friday, May 27 - Shopping in Morning, Drive to the Church for Day One
• Saturday, May 28 - Day Two of Ministry
• Sunday, May 29 - Day Three of Ministry
• Monday, May 30 - Possible Day Four of Ministry or Sightseeing in the Area
• Tuesday, May 31 - Travel Home to Orlando.
What We Will Do: We are going to conduct a day camp/VBS-type fun weekend for the children of the church and the area. Think games, cookouts, bouncy houses, giveaways, music, etc. We want to be there to love on these kids and bless this church.
Expected Cost: The expected cost is mainly the price of the airfare (currently $400-500), and van rental, so expect around $700. Southside Church is covering the cost of the hotel rooms. Breakfasts will be covered at the hotel and lunch will be provided for several days, but you will want to bring along spending money and money for meals not covered.
Fundraising: Click here for a sample sponsorship letter you can email, print or text to potential donors. Sponsors can use this link to give by selecting "Missions" and putting your name in the memo.
When do I need to commit by? Wednesday, March 2. We want to present the mission team to the church on Sunday, March 6. We will purchase plane tickets shortly thereafter.
Fundraisers and Sponsorships: Don't let the cost intimidate you. We will work together on fundraisers! We will also help you share your heart to potentail sponsors. If God wants you to go, He will provide a way. Sponsorship Letter: For a sample sponsorship letter, click here.
